Third Class Male 1 (from 2012 Miniseries)

Third Class Male 1 is an Steerage passenger on the RMS Titanic.

Biography

The man is first seen Third Class dining room where Peter Lubov first encounters David Evans, when he inquires on if he recognized Peter.

During the sinking of the Titanic, the man does not follow the other Steerage passengers to the dining room to wait for instructions. He instead makes his way up to the lifeboats, most likely going up the stairway from the forward well deck. Here he boards Lifeboat #1 with the Duff Gordons, Laura Francatelli two other male passengers, Seaman Hawkins, and four other seamen. His presence does not arose any suspicions among the people on deck.

He does not speak throughout the ordeal in Lifeboat #1, either for the few occupants in the boats or to return to rescue people in the water.

Trivia

• This character has no line in the script.
• Based on his appearance in the lifeboats, it is possible that he is based on Philip Zenni, a Steerage passenger who is believed to the first Steerage passenger to evacuate the Titanic.
